
Katie Leaver :- Soprano
Katie Leaver studied music at Manchester University, where she specialised in nineteenth century opera as well as studying voice (with Diane Mathews of the RNCM), clarinet, piano, and saxophone. Katie sings regularly as a soloist with various local choral societies, choirs and operatic societies, performing works such as Verdi’s Requiem, Handel's Messiah, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius, Haydn’s Creation, Rutter's Requiem and Fanshawe’s African Sanctus. Katie has also given solo recitals for both the Sir Arthur Sullivan Society and the Gilbert and Sullivan Society in London, Ely and Cirencester. She regularly sings for Roger Jones, Birmingham composer of Christian musicals, and has recorded many solos and backing vocals for his works, including various hymn, psalm and song collections. She also trains and conducts the South Birmingham and Children's Choirs for performances of his works, and is Music Co-Ordinator at St Andrew's Church in Barnt Green. Katie works part-time at Malvern College as a singing teacher, and spends the rest of her time looking after her three-year-old son.
